Blackbird
The Blackbird Paddle has our "Generation IV" latest technology inner core with a large and consistent sweet spot balanced with a thin EVA foam edge. The handle features an octagonal grip for comfort and control.
Engineered with an extra layer of superior carbon fiber yarn under the face, and finished with a transparent grit top coat surface for maximum durability, players will appreciate the double carbon wrapping and grit spin for consistent responses on hard drives, as well as super controlled dink and smash plays.
Why the Blackbird Stands Out:
- Double wrapped carbon face: Offers exceptional durability, strength and minimises any honeycomb show, even for the hardest of hitters.
- Dynamic Design: Inspired by the Blackbird Jet with red finishes and as well as uber smash resistant carbon face technology with grit wrap.
-
Gen IV Core: 14mm or 16mm core with our largest ever sweet spot for consistent control as well as EVA foam power lining and yellow block base shock absorbers.
Best For:
Intermediate to advanced players who want consistent performance and controlled power. This paddle is versatile for players who like to hit hard from the baseline with air lift, and kill their smashes with a precision game.
The broad sweet spot and comfortable feel also make it a great choice for beginners looking for control and the paddle will still be their preferred choice as it matures with the player's performance.
What about the Blackbird Jet?
In 1974, the Blackbird set the record for the quickest flight between London and New York at 1 hour, 54 minutes and 56 seconds. In 1976, it became the fastest airbreathing jet engine (or ducted jet engine) which is a Jet engine in which the exhaust gas which supplies jet propulsion is atmospheric air which is taken in, compressed, heated, and expanded back to atmospheric pressure through a propelling nozzle.
As of 2025, the Blackbird still holds three world records.
While deployed at Okinawa, the SR-71 Blackbirds and their aircrew members gained the nickname HABU after a pit viper indigenous to Japan, which the Okinawans thought the plane resembled.
The Blackbird Jet structure was 85% titanium, with much of the rest being polymer composite materials (a nice nod to the Blackbird paddle core).
